My notes from a live call / webinar I attended this morning

On the Warrior Forum, I registered a few weeks earlier, after starting really working to learn affiliate marketing. I have known this forum for many years, but never registered because I wass more focused on adsense since it was easy money, but anyway, Warrior Forum is the reference for Internet Marketing and they sell each others products called WSO for Warrior Special Offers.. I knew I wasn't going to buy any of them because I'm not looking for any tool, I usually like the tools I have already.
But on 25th I've seen one advert which I bought into, why? It's because the offer was a kind of coaching program, not one on one but just a membership to resources he produced, in fact just some tutorials from someone who has been doing internet marketing for a long time, I don't want to write his name because he told me it would not be cool to publish the notes I wrote down and I suppose he has google alerts on his name, and I don't want any trouble at the moment, I have enough already.
But anyway I think I can publish what I want on my site, I write it down for my own reference. The fact that it is public is not a problem, there is nothign top secret, it's just my raw notes from a live call, a webinar.

I woke up a little before 3AM this morning after sleeping only a few hours just to make sure I don't miss it. So I was taking notes, the live call was supposed to last 30 minutes in fact it lasted 2 hours, but it was very interesting because I'm interested in this topic right now.

OK so anyway, my notes:

This is the structure:
Hot niche market
Squeeze page
Critiques
Affiliate / CPA
Solo Ad or PPC
Test, track & tweak
Traffic dialed in
Autoresponder emails
Break-even or profitable
1K to 2K list ASAP
List swaps
One time offer, upsells
Affiliate program
Recruit affiliates
Branding & positioning
Scaling up! Automation

Now each point, I have 5 little pieces of paper recto-verso but it's just bad note taking, at least I may remember what it was all about..

Hot niche market
----------------
pick the big ones. internet marketing / fitness / dating / hobbies / personal development
take one you're interested in.
Go to clickbank, find a product you like, buy it, read it and take notes with the intention of teaching it

Squeeze page
------------
100% effort on it, very good A++
Mention freedom / make lot of money for IM products

Critiques
---------
Ask for opinion on forum, facebook about your squeeze page. 35% is your ultimate goal conversion rate

Affiliate / CPA
---------------
Go for speed for your first offer, after squeeze page (1st email confirm) or as soon as they subscribe (2nd confirmation ok). Afiliate program or own product
Take the same headline as the affiliate product, the benefit, in your squeeze page, so that you presell.
In aweber send them to affiliate offer upon subscription even before confirmation.
Cheap front end offer at first, to cover advertising costs.

Solo ad or PPC
--------------
He doesn't do SEO, too difficult for him. Time is money, energy is money. Rather PPC, banners.
Start with $10-20 / day PPC
$50-100 / day Solo ads
To test the squeeze page
How much do you need? Depends on the conversion rate. Play on house money.

Test, track & tweak
-------------------
Tweak to improve conversions of your squeeze page. Practise makes masters. Stay focused on one thing, don't be a jack of all trades. Stick to it. You're at most 50 tweaks away from success.

Traffic dialed in
-----------------
With PPC go for specific keywords not most clicks (eg: relationship vs dating coach)
Once you have tweaked your conversion, the maths work. It's for sure.

Autoresponders emails
---------------------
Pay attention, stay on top of your market. Copywriting, balance between infos and products. Create drama, controversial, etc. These are copywriting strategies.
Give value and be transparent. Talk to your list, be yourself. give good content & recommend or sell things.
Don't bombard your list, but be consistent. Do a mini soap opera to engage your list and so they pay attention when you promote one thing. Don't do one time, do it over several emails. Different angles. You can also do it again 6 weeks later.

Break even or profitable
------------------------
Anything less than breaking even means you need to tweak again. Because from breaking even you're set. You're building a big list for free.

1k to 2k list ASAP
------------------
First goal. What matters is the number of clicks you can generate. With a list that size you can start list swaps.

List swaps
----------
Contact, ASK people to do list swaps with you.

One time offer, upsells
-----------------------
One time offer or upsells. You want your own product instead of just affiliates. Replace affiliates programs with your own one time offer after your squeeze page. upsells, downsells, etc, for as long as you can, increase prices and products value as you go up and up for same customer who buy upsells. From lowend prices to up and up. For high ticket stuffs, like $1,000 put money aside and never touch it so you're safe from refunds.

Affiliate program
-----------------
They got to promote stuff. "you can't create products fast enough to meet the buying demand of your hot market"

Recruit affiliates
------------------
Paid traffic & affiliates is the best for gains. Build relationship and ASK. Follow up is key. Keep contacting them if they ignore first time.

Branding & positioning
----------------------
Affiliates JV, interviews, domain name in your name, youtube videos, presentations, etc. If you have high end product that no-one bought, you're still positioning yourself.
Build relationship for your branding and positioning. ! Presentation is huge ! If you can present yourself appealing to masses, you're set.

Scaling up! Automation
----------------------
Scale up and automate by outsourcing. More free time. You're working ON your business instead of IN your business.

END:
The best thing to make money: Provide Value. Help other people. Look at yourself, ask yourself how you can help.

OK, as I said it's raw note taking, I'm not a executive assistant :-)
So I don't want to write down his name, for the reasons I've mentionned but if you are in the same situation as me now, I can give you his name in private so you can see if you're interested in joining his program. But perhaps if I continue to follow his lessons and actually apply them, then I might mention him in the future on this forum, so you'll know eventually. Plus it is not necessary to pay for tuition, everything can be found on warrior forum and elsewhere, but the idea of having a course, like an ebook was appealing to me at this time after seeing how difficult it is to do it all on my own, I'm wasting much time whenever I open the forums, including mine :-)
And yes in the program there is an ebook form him where he explains all what he said in much better details, I've read it in one go, nearly 200 pages (EDIT: it is nearly 100, but felt like a long read as it is packed with new things for me), but I need to read it again, because it is useful and needs to be in my head as I go forward.

So there are probably several such "IM gurus" providing courses, but I like this one, he sounds legit, I have never heard of him before, but at the same time I never really got interested in IM so that's normal, in fact the only one I know is Joel Comm because he was hot at some point about adsense, wrote a book, etc.
But this one sounds legit, and from his ebook I've read and the live call I heard him, it reinforced my first impression I had when I read his offer on warrior forum, that it wasn't about some get rich or magic button, that I don't need. I know it will require work, but it can be fun also, plus I don't have to do something totally different from before, it's just that I need to change a few things in how I was doing things. For instance on best-reviewer.com I've set a premium membership before, but my sales page is ridiculous, done in 5 minutes and never touched again, plus I never advertise it anywhere but on the members menu and even here the advertising is invisible. So that should change and if I'm focused on selling memberships by providing more value in the memberships and explaining the benefits clearly, then what can happen other than me selling memberships? Selling less memberships than now I don't think it's humanly possible. :-)

Thanks, James for sharing...Can you please share with me his name and the name of his WSO???

WAHM Shelley

Yes I will contact you now with the thread url. You'll see in this thread that I said I'll publish my notes and he said that's not cool, so that's why I don't mention his name on my site, but I think if I go to any school I'm totally untitled to publish my notes! But I don't want to argue, no time for that :-)
